Red Demon:
Red Demon is an action-packed Science Fantasy novel I am querying starting in October 2024. I've run this past both hard SFF and romantasy beta readers and received great feedback. I'm confident this is a book to cry over, obsess over, and (hopefully) do well enough to allow for traditional publication of this and subsequent books in the Oria series.
While Jesse was hunting in the forest, his remote mining settlement died in silence, all at once. He knows to keep it together: his culture descended from extra-planet refugees that fought and won their right to breathe the same air as the native Asri. They must be the ones to blame. News bulletins are full of stories of rebels holding onto century-old rivalries against the new united empire, using magic that can infiltrate the most basic technology. But it’s the Red Demon whom Jesse witnesses with blooded weapons, a bio-engineered immortal who ostensibly fought on his queen’s side of the war. Jesse sets out in enemy territory to seek justice, while discovering her motives both for killing his loved ones and sparing his life.
Triggers: Non-graphic sexual assault, one chapter with graphic gore. One spicy M/F chapter and nongraphic M/M sexual situations.
Themes - found family, resilence, enemies to lovers subplot.

Any Mind Broken (Red Demon Sequel)
Dama, a woman of mixed Chaeten and Asri heritage, tried to be the change she wished to see in the world, peacefully serving as governor in an increasingly corrupting government. When that government drafts her gifted toddler, she needs the help of her estranged mentor, an Asri rebellion leader she hoped to never see again.
Also, did you know that if you were to bioengineer the human amygdala to be PTSD-proof, you’d increase odds of being both bi and very thirsy? (Look it up! That's real!) Meet that mentor’s nemesis, Jeron Alexander, a well-meaning sociopath and immortal trying to prevent the empire from drifting into the bigotry and superstitions of the past. One of the MCs from Red Demon will also fold back into the plot by the second half of the book.
Themes: Grief and loss, redemption, memory neuroscience/ why forgetting is advantageous for mental health, and how your favorite popular public figure is probably a shitty parent.
Target Completion Date: Fall 2025.

Enigma Station:
My sci-fi thriller short story, Amber Skied World, was recently accepted into an anthology called Enigma Station! This shared universe collection will be edited by Edward Swing with a release date expected in early 2025. Enigma Station tells the story of the resettling of an abandoned alien space station where the humans and other sentient species experience unexplained phenomena they are desperate to understand. Expect vibes similar to the Expanse series, X-Files, or Dr Who in the 2010s.
Amber Skied World focuses on a teenage girl named Iris who suffered seizures after exposure to construction slag on the station. Although her mother and doctor dismiss some of the neurological side effects as hallucinations, Iris believes a mysterious being is reaching out to her. He becomes a little more human each day, as she becomes a little more of whatever he is.
Triggers: Mild profanity, themes that send all the wrong messages to schizophrenics.
INTROGRESSION TREE:
I see a ton of posts on reddit to get recs for enemies to lovers romance novels that don't skimp on world-building and prose, This is that, and my intention is to publish this as a standalone in the same universe as Red Demon. Our lead dude is an introvert from the monogamous and traditional Asri culture. As a young boy, his family is executed following their failed rebellion, and he’s since come to accept that they deserved it. As an adult, he gets an unexpected opportunity to redeem his family name and regain his title through a political marriage. However, no one has told him that this is a fantasy book — and therefore — his government is evil. Our leading female main character has all the political savvy and education our dude needs to survive. She comes from the modern, individualistic and artistic Chaeten culture where if you aren’t a sociopath, it certainly helps to fake it.
Themes include: Grief and loss, redemption, enemies to lovers romance, forced proximity, opposites attract.
Target Completion Date: Spring 2026.
